It's a bit unfair, huh? You're out here all alone. No one to care for you. Sometimes that's all you need, eh? Someone to care for you ` someone to want you. I reckon Rocky would've loved you. Right. You're gonna be nice to me, yeah? Haven't done this in a while. It'll be fun, hm? Fine. (SIGHS) Right. Let's do this. Ready? (SIGHS) (EXHALES) (SIGHS) (ACTION MUSIC) ANNOUNCER: Now we get to the business end of the championship. The number one, Ryan Wilde, only four points up. Can he hold off a charging Caleb Saunders for a second championship in a row? Well, history would suggest that's a pretty hard feat to achieve. Nothing seems to separate these young men. Who's gonna break out and win? This is the sort of stuff legends are made of. (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) The track conditions are perfect ` sticky and soft. So, get ready everyone. Things are about to get serious. Have fun out there. And win, of course. Hey, are you OK? What do you mean? I just saw your hand before. I'm fine. Come on. Get down the line. (ENGINE ROARS) I'm fine. (DRAMATIC MUSIC INTENSIFIES) Copyright Able 2018 ANNOUNCER: Wilde and Saunders once again. This is tied together with a bungee cord. Neither of them can get space to break away. This is gonna be a long race. Saunders grabs a couple of bike lengths out front. Can he hold it? It's too early to tell. Over the tabletop ` nothing in it. Saunders sweeps the outside then ducks inside. Oh no, he takes Wilde high and makes hard contact. Saunders tries to punt Wilde into the hay bales. Good clean racing or dirty move? You make the call. Wilde saves it! How's he gonna respond? Are things gonna get all bam-bam up in here now? Who's that guy in the orange? He's mean. I don't like him at all. What's his deal? I reckon you'd like him if you met him. Doubt it. I've got a hunch you would. Ryan better get going. This could end in tears. He's doing fine. OK! All right! Shucks. Saunders has broken away. The number one seems shook up by the contact, and Saunders takes an easy win. The points lead down to one point. Wilde on a slide. Can he regroup? Or is Saunders finding his stride at exactly the right time? You know, dude, if you're gonna ride slow like a granddad,... Uh oh. ...then pull over so I can get past. You can get past me any time you want, bro. You just have to ride faster. Yeah, well, that was a dirty move you made coming out of the sand section. The only thing dirty about that move was your face when I roosted you. OK, boys, cut it out, eh. He's riding dirty, Dad. It's called dirt bike racing for a reason, Ryan. Thank you, Becky. Are you seriously siding with Caleb? Nah. I told you about the sand. All right, that's enough. Back to the pits, eh. Plenty more races to come. Yeah, come on, guys. Pits! Thanks. Cheers. So, you don't know where you're gonna live? That's terrible. Yeah. I like it with Auntie Heather and Uncle Tom. Yeah. They're cool. Why don't you get to choose, though? I don't know what's going on. I guess they just wanna make sure I'm in the best place. Yeah, but what does the best place even mean? What are you looking for? No one. (CHUCKLES) I didn't say who are you looking for. It's no one. Don't worry. It's nothing. Yeah, right. What does he look like? I might know who he is. You don't, OK. Just forget it. Come on, tell me. Hi, Grace. Hey. (CHUCKLES) How's school? It sucks. Hey, um, can you help me with the oil change? Dad's changing tyres. Yeah, sure. Ryan was looking good out there in his first race. What do you reckon ` champion? (CHUCKLES) That's the plan. Hm. Make sure you say 'hi' to him from me. Ew, yuck. All right, let's go. Hey, don't forget you're coming for a sleepover on the weekend. Yeah. And will we pick you up? Totally. See you. (CHUCKLES) (LAID-BACK MUSIC) Well, well, well. Look who made it back from her diving trip. (CHUCKLES) Georgia, meet Caleb. Caleb, meet Georgia. We've met. * There's still time to do yours. Just take your access code and go to census.govt.nz. And if you don't have your census information, keep an eye on your letterbox; it's already on its way. Sometimes that's all you need, eh? Someone to care for you ` someone to want you. (EASY-GOING MUSIC) (SIGHS) Thanks for having me to stay, Mr Watson. Oh, yeah, no worries, Georgia. Of course, technically, Grace is grounded. (CHUCKLES) Oh, don't forget you're cooking dinner tonight. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, what did you say to him? I was stunned. (LAUGHS) I wish I was there. Caleb is definitely not the Wildes' most favourite person. It was awkward. What did Ryan say? No, I made Becky promise to never tell anyone, so he does not know. Wait, you got his number, though, right? Yeah, of course. Are these all yours? Doubt it. They're my sister's. (LITTLE BARK'S I WANT YOUR LOVE) # Hello # Hello # Hello. # I want your love. # I was dancing on the floor next to you. # Hey, what about it? Tell me what's new. # I want your love. # It's all I think of. # I want your love. # Cos I want your love. (LIVELY ELECTRONIC MUSIC) # So I slid down next to you. # I couldn't help it. It's all I could do. # Your breath's sweet ` sweet and new. # I laughed ` it was all I could do. I want your love. # I want your love. # Hey, Wendy, this is Georgia. Hey. Oh, yeah, you're living at the Wildes', right? Yeah. That was amazing. Practice, practice, practice. Yeah, I know what you mean. Oh, yeah, she used to be one of those fancy horse riders. Oh. (CHUCKLES) What are you practising for? World champs. Ah, cool. Yeah, in Europe. No way! (GASPS) Do you ride? Um, kind of. Not really. Well, we should do something about that, right? (THE BETHS' RUSH HOUR 3) # I know a place where we can go, yeah. # Night and day. # Just around the corner, # cheap beer, rice wine, and soju # Night and day. # Don't tell me you don't wanna. # Night and day. # Roll over once. # Roll over twice. # Roll off the couch, baby, and into my life. # I know a place where we can go, yeah, just around the corner, # won't you come along with me. # I wanna take you to my home, yeah, # maybe watch a movie. # I just downloaded Rush Hour 3. (ELECTRIC GUITAR SOLO) # I know that love can be so frightening. # Night and day. # It doesn't have to be. # You need a full-time sidekick. # Hey, you're pretty good. You've got good balance. Must be all that fancy horse riding, eh? (CHUCKLES) It's hard, though. Come back any time. Honestly, you should practise more. I reckon you've got something. Yeah, I'd love that. (LAUGHS) All right. See you, girls. See you. So, why are you grounded? Oh, it's just a stupid school thing. (SIGHS) I swapped my teacher's whiteboard markers for felt pens. (LAUGHS) You're kidding. No. (LAUGHS) It didn't go down so well. What does your mum say? Oh, she doesn't care. She... ...left. They split up a couple of years ago. She lives in town. Oh, that sucks. I'm sorry. Oh, I don't care. I guess they didn't like each other. I mean, you know what it like when your mother doesn't` Sorry. Hey, come with me. Come on! Hurry up! Get in. All right. Put your seat belt on. (ENGINE STARTS) What are we doing? Dad's teaching me to drive, so we should practice, right? Oh my God. (LAUGHS) (LAUGHS) Yes! Are you sure we're allowed to do this? Yes. Dad encourages me to drive in the paddock. Whoa. I have never driven a car before. (SQUEALS) It's just like riding a bike ` except it's a car. What? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Oh my God. Way. Look out! Uh, are you sure you've driven before? Yes, all the time. OK, maybe just... slow down a tiny bit. (LAUGHS) OK. Yeah, just slow down a lot. Way ` whoa! Whoa! Look out! (GLASS SMASHES, CAR HORN BLARES) (CAR HORN BLARES) (SIGHS) (SOBS) You OK? (WHIMPERS) Georgia, are you OK? Yeah, I think so. (MOANS IN PAIN). (GROANS). I think it's broken. Just stay still, OK. Don't move. (SOBS) (MOANS) (PANTS) I'm sorry, Dad. Let's talk about it when we get home. We don't talk about any` I said... we'll talk about it when we get home. You always say that. I'm not happy about this incident, Grace. I know, Dad. I'm sorry. (SIGHS) Well, these two got themselves into a little pickle. Sure did. Hey, I'm sorry. I should have been watching them. Don't be silly, Richard. These girls should know better. Right, Grace? Yes, Mrs Wilde. That's for sure. I don't know about Grace, but Georgia is in trouble when we get her home. Oh, don't worry. Someone has to pay for the car. (CHUCKLES) Hey, Georgie, can you come give me a hand? Yeah. Is this our bike? Yeah, the very same. You've done a lot of work since I last saw it. Yeah, yeah. Well, there's still a way to go, but, you know, it's coming along. Yes. I just need a hand welding something. I don't know how to weld. Well, you will in a minute. Here ` put that on. Come on. (FAST-PACED ROCK MUSIC) (WELDER BUZZES) Wow. You sure you haven't done this before? No. (LAUGHS) (ROCK MUSIC CONTINUES) When I was about 12 or 13, me and my buddy Darren O'Keefe, we broke into the Te Atatu rugby club, stole their tractor. No way. Well, we didn't really steal it, you know. We just borrowed it. Then we hotwired it, drove it right down the middle of main street in Henderson, and parked it out in front of the cop shop. What? That's crazy. Why? Oh, you know, the tractor seemed lonely to us. (CHUCKLES) Needless to say, I got heaps of grief about it and I got grounded. But you know what? What would being a grown-up mean if you didn't have stories to tell once you got there. (CHUCKLES) (CHUCKLES) (RICKY ADAMS' TROUBLESOME HEARTS) So, for the custody hearing, the court needs some information. This information will be used for the court to make their assessment. As your appointed lawyer, we need to be as thorough as possible. Uh, what sort of information? Oh, just the usual ` uh, school, sleeping arrangements, money... Uh, money? # They believe that # we're just troublesome hearts. # There's no problems here. # Troublesome hearts # That's just how we... So, Georgia shares a room? Yes, with Becky. OK. She doesn't... have her own room? Oh, is that OK that she shares? I'm sure it will be fine. # Days go by, # there's only one thing on my mind. # They still believe # we're just troublesome hearts. So, let's get down to the financial details. How much do you guys earn? You know ` yearly. # We're troublesome hearts. # That's just how we appear. # I'm hoping for a promotion next year. Yeah, and I'm, uh, planning on doing some more advertising for the shop. Look, I know things are tight, Steven, but surely we love her enough for her to stay. It's not that simple, Heather. Georgia's financial security will be one of the court's major concerns. We're trying. Maybe we're not doing the right thing by her. Maybe she would be better off... with them. Don't talk like that, honey. We love the kids, and we love having Georgia too. Surely, they wouldn't take her off us because we don't have enough money. Unfortunately,... I think that's a very real possibility. Captions by Amelia Rushbrook Edited by Antony Vlug. www.able.co.nz Captions were made with the support of NZ On Air. Copyright Able 2018
