(THOUGHTFUL MUSIC) It's the final race of the season this weekend. Yeah, I know. So you need to focus. I've got this, Mum. Caleb's gonna come out fighting. He's down eight points; he's got nothing to lose. You know, Caleb's a good rider. But I reckon it's all good. OK. That's very confident. (ENGINE TURNS) (ENGINE REVS) Believe me, Mum, I've got this. (ENGINE REVS) (UPLIFTING MUSIC) Well, I certainly didn't expect that. I know. He's always had it in him. He just didn't believe it. (ENGINE TURNS) (ENGINE IDLES) (ENGINE REVS) Now, Georgia, take it easy when you go up the` (ENGINE HUMS) (ENGINE REVS) (GRAND PRIX'S 'TOWN OF SOUND') # Hey, man, see ya round. # I gotta go, # cos I'm heading down to the town. (ENGINE REVS) # Striving all day # just to get there tonight. # You can paid when the sun goes down. (ROCK MUSIC) # There's a whole lot of bands # you never heard. # That's cos they're all underground. (ROCK MUSIC CONTINUES) # You never hear them. They never record. # You have to be there when the gig goes down. (INSTRUMENTAL CONTINUES) # Headin' for the town of sound, # where all the music's playin' # all around. # Heading to the town of sound. # You know something? What? You're going fast enough now for me not to worry about you any more. Well, I'm happy to oblige, Bec. (GENTLE GUITAR MUSIC) So this is the famous Barnaby? (CHUCKLES) Wow. He's a beauty. He's a he, though, eh? Yes, he's a he. He's a good boy. Want a ride, Bec? (GASPS) Is that OK? Well, she'll be in safe hands. OK. (EXHALES) Penny would be so happy to see you back up there. SIGHS: Yeah. (CHUCKLES) I think so. (LOCK CLICKS) (GENTLE MUSIC) Yup. (LAUGHS) OK. Let's go. (GENTLE MUSIC CONTINUES) (MUSIC ENDS) I don't believe it. You're a natural on a motocross bike. It's just like riding a horse. Oh, well, (CHUCKLES) except the snot. So that's what you've been doing at Grace's all this time? What do you think, we just sit around, talking about boys? I should hope not. (SOFT, RISING MUSIC) Hello, Barnaby. I'm Becky. Pleased to meet you. Whatever happens, you know, with the court case and all, I just want you to know` (SIGHS) It should be fine. Well, whatever happens, we're here for you, always ` regardless, OK? Always have been, so... Mm. (GRUNTS SOFTLY) (STIRRUPS CREAK) (SHOCKING MUSIC) Becky! Becky! (FOREBODING MUSIC) (MUSIC STOPS) You were so lucky. I guess so. It's a long way down from the top of a horse. I know that now. OK, you make sure that you never get on a horse without proper safety gear, OK? I know, I know. At least it was just your thumb and not anything else. Hmm. Do you miss your horse? (SIGHS SOFTLY) OK. (THOUGHTFUL MUSIC) (SIGHS) He's beautiful. Yeah, he was one of the best. (GENTLE MUSIC) I reckon Rocky would've loved it here,... like I do. (TUTS) Hey, we've got a big day tomorrow. We should get some sleep. (CHUCKLES) The biggest. Night-night, Becky. SOFTLY: Goodnight. (SIGHS SOFTLY) (CLICK!) I've got this, Mum. Caleb's gonna come out fighting. He's down eight points; he's got (DRAMATIC, PROMISING MUSIC) TANNOY: The final weekend of the season. And who will be crowned the champ ` Ryan Wilde or the ever-threatening Caleb Saunders? D'you need anything, Ryan? I'm good. Usually at this point you're a bit stressed. People change, Mum. (INDISTINCT CHATTER) Here's the starting sheet, Mrs Wilde. Thanks, Grace. Hey, Ryan. Good luck today. Thanks, Grace. OK, well, I better go. Dad'll be` Wait, Grace. (ROMANTIC GUITAR MUSIC) Do you wanna go to the movies sometime next week? Whatever. Only... Only if you can. How about you win the championship today... and we'll talk about it after? That sounds good. I'll see you when I get off the podium. OK. (CHUCKLES) You've created a monster. Sorry! (CHUCKLES) (ENGINES REV) (EXCITING MUSIC) ANNOUNCER: Three laps to go, and Wilde is riding like we've never seen before ` relaxed, in the flow, unstoppable! Saunders has nothing for him. Wilde is on another level. He's riding like a champion. He's already a champion to me. What? (ENGINES BUZZ) Ryan Wilde couldn't have picked a better day to have his best streak of the season, maybe his career! He's gonna win. He'll be the champion. No, no, one more race to go. Yeah, of course. He's certainly on his way, though. Wow. He's rock solid early on and is coasting in for an easy win. (DRAMATIC, PERCUSSIVE MUSIC) (MUSIC INTENSIFIES) Over the line, and now 15 points up. This championship is pretty much done. Yes. (ALL EXCLAIM SOFTLY) Saunders, disappointed. He had nothing for the number one today as he watches his championship hopes just disappear. (ENGINES BUZZ, RUMBLE) (GENTLE GUITAR MUSIC) Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Oh. What a ride! I had fun. It felt good out there. Attaboy. You put 15 points on Caleb. Yeah, and you have to finish in the top 10 to win the championship now. I'm racing to win. Fair enough. That was a great race. Thanks. I didn't care about Caleb ` just myself. Works every time. (CHUCKLES) Well done. (UPBEAT ACOUSTIC MUSIC) (ENGINE RUMBLES) (STEADY ACOUSTIC MUSIC) Guys, you've gotta see these lap times. Hey, 15 minutes. All right. I'm gonna go get ready. (ENGINES BUZZ IN DISTANCE) (CRASH!) (GASPS, BREATHES HEAVILY) (TENSE MUSIC) (GASPS SOFTLY) (SNEAKY MUSIC) (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) I'm not your servant, you know. (TENSE MUSIC) Oh no. Don't tell them. Squeeze my finger. (GROANS, GASPS) You can't ride like this. I have to. You can't. Not going to happen. I have to. I have to get at least 10th. (MUSIC RISES) Wait here. Where you going? Becky! (TENSE MUSIC) What's going on? Show her. What happened? No time for that. He has to race. He can't race like that. No. I mean he has to race ` one way or another. Absolutely not` No way. Come on. That's ridiculous. Becky, I have never raced before. It's easy as! Oh, thanks, Becky (!) You only need top 10. Top 10 only?! Are you crazy? (MUSIC BUILDS) (TENSE MUSIC) 10 minutes. Ryan? Mr Watson needs to see you. Both of you. Now. Why does he need to see both of us? And I'd better stay here and get Ryan to the line. Where is he? He said now, and both of you. Something about Ryan's licence. What? I'll get Ryan ready. Go! Quick! Now! OK, OK! (TENSE MUSIC) Just remember to smooth, ride safe. Don't be a hero. I don't know if I can do this. What about all that stuff you said about believing in yourself, not caring what anyone else thinks? I just don't know if I've got it in me. But you can handle it, right? Kind of. Then you can beat half those dudes with your eyes closed. Shouldn't we just tell the truth? (MUSIC BUILDS) (FOOTSTEPS CLACK) Reggie, what's up? Hey, Tom. Wow. What a race for Ryan this morning, eh? Yeah. But you wanted to see us? Uh, what? You need to speak to us about Ryan's licence? Uh,... don't think so. Uh, Becky said you had to see us. I haven't seen Becky. Do you know anything about this? No. Uh, you better get down there. The race is about to start. Yeah. Right. (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) (TENSE MUSIC) Just ride the race line. Don't do anything crazy. Just stay in the line. OK. Got it. Can you please speed up? But don't panic. (SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY) The hell is going on? Hey, Ryan, great first moto, man. It's not over yet. Think you're on a roll? Only thing you're gonna be rolling down is that hill up there. Put your helmet on, Caleb. You've got this. ANNOUNCER: Here it is, the last moto of the season. Wilde just needs top 10. What can Saunders do? We'll see. (ENGINES REV, RUMBLE) (DRAMATIC MUSIC) (ENGINES BUZZ, REV) Saunders gets a great jump. Out front and away. But Wilde ` the very back of the pack. Not what he needed at all. Come on, Ryan. Ooh, bad start. (DRAMATIC ACTION MUSIC) Into the first corner, and Wilde is going backwards. He needs to get going. You know, Caleb's a good rider. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) ANNOUNCER: Something must be wrong with Ryan Wilde. He's dropped all the way to the back of the pack. He needs to get going or this could be a disaster. What's he doing?! This is not good. Hey, what happened back there? Richard didn't wanna see us. I'm watching, all right? Well, when this is over, we're gonna have a little chat. WHISPERS: Come on, George. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) This time it's Saunders having the ride of his life. And the number one is in last place. He's in terrible trouble. (TENSE MUSIC) (ENGINES BUZZ) The halfway point of the race, and Saunders is just cruising out front. No sign of Wilde anywhere near the top 10. He's gone from one of the best rides of his life to one of the worst. What's up, George? You can do this. Oh, it's a tragedy. We're watching one of the best riders of a generation seemingly just give up, and his championship hopes just go away. WHISPERS: This is it, Georgia. It's the moment. It's go time. (ROCK MUSIC) Wilde. A little burst of speed. He comes through some backmarkers. This is more like it. (ROCK MUSIC BUILDS) Finally. Go, son. Bring it! Saunders way up front. The race pretty much wrapped up. But the number one is making a charge. # She says, 'You can bet on me.' # It's always better. Now we'll see something. Wilde railing the outside, showing a glimpse of the form we saw this morning. But is it too late? # It's my, my, my, my way. He's riding a bit strange, don't you think, love? Nah, he looks good. Well, smoother out of the corners. And what's with all that standing? He's feeling it. Can I use those binoculars for a sec? I'm using them. STERNLY: Becky. Bring your own. We are so gonna be having that chat. Sure. # Yeah! Ryan Wilde carving through the pack. He's up to fifth. That's enough for the championship. But is he done going forward? The answer is definitely no! Oh, where's Georgia? She should be here to see this. The number one right on to 102's rear wheels! This is an amazing ride! Coming in for the last straight. Will Wilde pull the trigger? # Yeah! Wilde lets Saunders go. He doesn't need the win. What's he doing? Winning the championship. # Wow! Saunders into the last corner. A hollow victory. And another legendary ride from the incredible Ryan Wilde. # Yeah! # It's my, my, my, my way. # It's my, my, my, my way. # (EXCITED CHATTER) (TENSE MUSIC) Well done, Ryan. Thanks, Georgia. Guess you'll be taking me to the movies then. I guess so. BREATHLESSLY: Yeah, you rode really well today. OK, cut the bull. What, honey? I'll give you three chances to tell me the truth. I mean, he was great. That's one. See, this is great (!) You didn't even want me to win in the first place. That's two. Hey, Ryan. Uh, congratulations, bro. It's been a good season. Been real epic, but... one of us had to win, so, you know, it's... What's going on? Another awesome battle, guys. I cannot remember a rivalry quite like` Richard, Ryan has something to tell you. Don't you, Ryan? What's up? Don't let me get to three. (TENSE MUSIC) It was me. What was? It was me on Ryan's bike. That's ridiculous. Why? Uh, what's the story? I cut my hand. I couldn't race. So I raced for him. So what now, Richard? Ahem. Well, uh,... I guess that means you're disqualified. (ENGINES BUZZ IN DISTANCE) And, uh, Caleb is our new champion. (CHUCKLES) Congratulations, boy. And, Georgia, would you like to sign up for next year's competition? (SOFT, OPTIMISTIC MUSIC) (CHUCKLES) (OPTIMISTIC MUSIC CONTINUES) (THUDDING) So all you kids, you're grounded. You too, Becks ` for a month. At least. Mum, come on! I thought I taught you kids to be honest. Yeah. And, Ryan, you're gonna write an apology letter to the AMA. And if you're lucky, you're gonna get your licence back. (SNORTS, LAUGHS) Who writes letters these days? Don't get smart. I'm not in the mood. (CHUCKLES) And, Georgie, I'm sorry, but we're gonna have to punish you too. Cos you can't ride without your licence. I know. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have` No, you shouldn't have. I don't think it's fair that we... Oh. (ENVELOPE RIPS) (TENSE MUSIC) What is it? (SIGHS) Looks like I'll be staying for a while. Oh! Yes! (CHUCKLES) (UPLIFTING MUSIC) Does that mean you can teach me how to ride a horse? Yeah, sure can. (GENTLE MUSIC) I guess this means we'll be racing against each other next year. Yeah. We should make a team. Team Wilde. Sounds good. (HAPPY MUSIC) No way. The '74 Elsinore! TOM: Yup. Been waiting for a day like today. For me? Yeah, well, you built it. Thank you! (SQUEALS SOFTLY) Get on it. Hey, let's go out for dinner, to celebrate. Yaaay. And you know what? When we get home, you're still all grounded for a month. Yes! Yay! (CHUCKLES) Now get to work.
