Eliza? Eliza's not here any more. Fight, Eliza. Fight! (EXHALES SHARPLY) We're connected, you and I, Rose. I've seen our future. (GROANS) There's someone here to see you. Hello, Rose. It's the Rage. It's bad. We're getting the hell out of here. Where are we going? To get medicine. (CRICKETS CHIRP) (GENTLE MUSIC) (BAG RUSTLES) (ZIPPING) So, you're going after them? Well, they can't have gone far ` not with Caine in his condition. Don't go. I have a really bad feeling about this. Something is wrong here. They won't last five minutes out there. Yes, they will. Tom might be a pain in the butt, but he's clever. He's not gonna let anything happen to them. I have to go after them. (GENTLE, REFLECTIVE MUSIC) I've been having these dreams ` bad dreams. I know you've been having them too. And Tom. Maybe not the same ones, but the feeling's the same. It's like someone's trying to warn us. Yeah, but they're just dreams. Are they? Or are we somehow connected to what happened to the world? Isn't that what Doni kept telling you ` that we're all connected? Yeah, well, Doni was delusional. Maybe, but what if he was right? What if we actually have some kind of role to play in all of this? I have to go. I'll be back before the Wave. (LOW, UNEASY MUSIC) (BIRDSONG) (FOOTSTEPS APPROACH) She'll be OK. You were right, though. Something's not right here. I was eavesdropping. Sorry. Just... stay out of my face. He's still with you... (TENSE MUSIC) ...in here somewhere. Who's still with me? You know who. You're just in denial, but relax. That is why I'm here ` to help you realise your full potential. You're just a little bit crazy, aren't you? I really hate that word. (OMINOUS MUSIC) I understand this must all be very confusing. (CRACKLING) Allow me to clarify the situation. (CRACKLING) (DRAMATIC MUSIC) Is this better? (BIRDSONG) (FEET THUD) (CHAIR THUDS) (EXHALES SHARPLY) (CHAIR THUDS) (PANTS) (CHAIR THUDS) (YELPS) (GRUNTS, COUGHS) (SPLUTTERS, GRUNTS) (CHAIR THUDS) (SIGHS FRUSTRATEDLY) (COUGHS) (SPLUTTERS) (STRAINS) (GRUNTS) (BREATHES RAGGEDLY) (WHIMPERS) You're making one hell of a racket for someone trying to escape. Oh, don't give me stink eye. (GROANS) Look, I didn't wanna tie you up. I wanted to help you remember. Get out of my house! Excellent idea. (GROANS) (YELPS) I think as soon as you get away from this place, you'll begin to remember. Remember what?! Everything. And when you do, you're gonna be very embarrassed with the way you've been behaving. (UNSETTLING MUSIC) (GRUNTS) Look, I really don't wanna tie you up again, so, please, focus. Try to remember something ` anything. I remember you getting blown up. That's a start, right? No? OK. Well, here's my plan... Honestly, I would rather you just kill me. Well, that won't be necessary. You're already dying. Relax! Only the really annoying, useless part is dying. You know, the Eliza part. See, there is another part ` a tiny fragment, really cool, deep down inside. That's the part that's gonna be calling the shots very soon. Tie her up, and let's get out of here. I hate the country. (EXHALES) How far away is this town? Not too far. Just a couple more. We should rest. Try and cool off. (GRUNTS) (GROANS) You know Rose will come after us. Oh, absolutely, but I'm not worried about that. Getting you that medicine ` that's what's important. Why are you doing this? I tried to kill your sisters. Cos I'm not you. I'm not ashamed of what I did. I was putting my people first. It was survival. I understand. But if I were you, I would've found another way. There was no other way. There's always another way. Do you mind? (EXHALES) Thanks. (GULPS) (INTRIGUING MUSIC) What's that? It's just fog. I don't like the look of it. We need to keep moving. (FOREBODING MUSIC) (EERIE MUSIC) You're right. There is something weird about this fog. (MUSIC CONTINUES) It's moving against the breeze. Come on. We'll find what we need in there. (EERIE MUSIC) (SINISTER MUSIC) (WIND HOWLS EERILY) (YELPS, GROANS) Don't touch it. Don't touch the fog. (SINISTER MUSIC) (WIND HOWLS EERILY) (FRANTIC MUSIC) (PANTS) (BAG RUSTLES) (WIND HOWLS) (BREATHES SHAKILY) (LOW, UNEASY MUSIC) (SWITCH CLICKS) (POWER SURGES) (BREATHES HEAVILY) (COUGHS) Slow down. You'll make yourself sick. You're not real. (LAUGHS) Well, that's not very nice. (SIGHS) I'm hallucinating. Oh. Well, if I'm an hallucination, then why are you talking to me? Talking to yourself. (INHALES SHARPLY) Isn't that the first sign of madness? (UNEASY MUSIC) (EXHALES) (EERIE MUSIC) Stay away from the window. It's trying to get in. It's like it's alive. I said stay away from the window. (AIR HISSES) Watch out! (BREATHES RAGGEDLY) (TENSE MUSIC) (EXTINGUISHER HISSES) Untie me! (GRUNTS) (EXTINGUISHERS HISS) Come on! (GLASS SHATTERS, AIR HISSES) (CLEARS THROAT) You really need to stop what you're doing. What I need to do is to put an end to this. Yes, but not this way. Do you remember back in our world after the kids disappeared how things fell apart? People started turning on each other. People were frightened. Fear ` that's how it got in. How what got in? The darkness ` the exact same darkness that's here. And back in our world, it might've had a different face ` some hard-talking politician with all the answers ` but it's the exact same evil. This thing isn't gonna stop until it's burnt all the worlds down. And what about our kids? Are you prepared to just throw away their lives? Michael? Answer me! YELLS: There's no... (SLAMS TABLE) other way. (UNEASY MUSIC) (DARK, EERIE MUSIC) (WIND HOWLS) (AIR HISSES) (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) (SIGHS) (MOUSE SQUEAKS) Shh. (EERIE MUSIC) We're out. (BOTH BREATHE HEAVILY) (AIR HISSES) Oh man! (INTENSE MUSIC) (GRUNTS) (MOP SIZZLES) This way. (AIR HISSES) (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) - (LATCH CLANGS) - (SIGHS) Good news ` this door's the only way in... or out. We're trapped. That's the bad news. Here, have some of this. (BREATHES RAGGEDLY) Let me help. I can do it! Get away from me! (GRUNTS) (WATER BOTTLE CLATTERS) And we're trapped. We're getting the hell out of here. Where are we going? To get medicine. (DARK, FOREBODING MUSIC) (BREATHES SHAKILY) (MOUSE SQUEAKS) OK. Look after yourself, buddy. (LID THUDS) (EERIE MUSIC) Well, at least the fog can't get in. (AIR HISSES) Wrong. Ohh. (BREATHES RAGGEDLY) Caine, over here! (INTRIGUING MUSIC) (UNSETTLING MUSIC) (GROANS IN AGONY) We've gotta keep going! It's no good. You go. Save yourself. I told you, I'm not you. Oh, all right, all right. You're a real boy scout. I get it! Move! (GRUNTS) (OMINOUS MUSIC) (DOOR CLANGS) (GROANS) (GROANS) (INTENSE MUSIC) (YELPS) (DOOR SHUTS) Rose! What the hell were you thinking taking off like that? Caine needed help. I had to do something. Oh, he's getting worse. He could turn any minute. We've got no time to lose, then. STRAINS: Come on! (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) Remembered anything yet? No. Nothing to remember. Hmm. Perhaps when we get to the city. The city?! You mean the city that was levelled by a nuclear blast? Good one, Brain Trust (!) Have you ever heard of a radioactive fallout? (GRUNTS) There is none. The Wave swept it away. We rest here. (EXHALES) What's the deal with them? I know, right? To be honest, they kinda give me the creeps. (SCOFFS) That's saying a lot. They've been like this ever since the explosion. Weird. You know what's really weird? I always thought your sister was the chosen one, that she and I were connected, that all of this was our destiny, but, really, it was you all along. Mm, don't get any fresh ideas, bud. Tall, dark and deranged isn't really my type. You have powers. We both do. Powers? Well, how do you think I managed the old Ben-Doni switcheroo? I mean, that's just a cheap trick compared to what you can do. If you wanted, you could wipe all these guys out without even raising a sweat. (GROANS) More crazy talk. Is it? How do you think I survived a direct nuclear blast? Why don't you give it a shot? That one there ` take him out. How? Well, just concentrate on him and will it to happen. This is ridiculous. If I'm right, you could just click your fingers and zap! You'd be back home. There's nothing I could do about it. Try it. Do it. (EERIE MUSIC) (CRACKLING) (INTENSE MUSIC) (BOOM!) (BREATHES HEAVILY) Now, that's impressive. Well, I guess we won't be needing these. (GROANS) We keep going. Your Majesty. (PILLS RATTLE) This one says it's an antibiotic. This should help stop the infection. Well, yeah, OK, but how are you gonna administer it? (METAL CLANGS IN DISTANCE) OK. You stay here and don't do anything until I get back. (DISTANT THUDDING) (DISTANT THUDDING) (DOOR THUDS) (SINISTER MUSIC) (GLASS CRACKS) (GLASS SHATTERS) (SPLUTTERS) It's burning! I told you to wait! It's only water. Well, the fog's found us. We have to move. Get up. (GRUNTS) Leave me! No! Get up. Help me! Come on, get up. (GRUNTS) Without me, you and Rose still have a chance of escaping. He's right. I'm not gonna let the Rage win ` not this time! Listen to me, kid. I'm finished. Done. You can't just give up! (SIGHS) Who said anything about giving up? (SOLEMN MUSIC) Get out of here. There's no way I'm leaving you! I threw you and your sisters to the wolves, but you still tried to save me. Let me make it right. (SOLEMN MUSIC CONTINUES) ECHOES: Go! No! No! (AIR HISSES) # Be brave. # Be strong. # Your time # will come. # Be brave. # Be strong... # (BREATHES HEAVILY) Come on. You can rest soon. We're almost home. Welcome to your new dominion. (SOFT ACOUSTIC MUSIC) # You'll find your true self out there somewhere. # You'll find your true self out there somewhere. # Friend of a fool. # How would you know to be so cruel? # Your mother raised you lovely and kind. # Silly girl, it's all in your mind. # It's all in your... # Captions by Chelsea Brady.
