Today, four players are going to battle it out to see if they've got what it takes to be our ultimate Brain Buster. Now, first, they'll go through their specialist subject rounds. And then it is Stella, Billy and Hugh ` all on 40 points. Of course, Millie and Billy have already taken on their specialist subject round, so after the break, our two remaining players will have a go. And, of course, all of our players are wondering if they are going to be able to hang out with Mikey. - Here on the Brain Buster, our top two finalists will get the chance to go to the final round and turn their points into dollars. This is where champions are made, but only one will be leaving victorious. - Thanks for that, Mikey. And don't forget ` you can play from home as well. Just head online to ` Don't go anywhere. So, what are you going to do with the money? - Probably just save it, to be honest. Yeah. - Smart move, Billy. Thanks for coming onto the show. As for our three remaining players ` it's one step closer to the Brain Buster. - One down, three to go ` which means very soon our top two will take on the Brain Buster. Must be feeling the heat now. - We sure are, Mikey. Thank you very much for that. Of course, before we can go into the Brain Buster, we have our Brainteaser. Now, all of our players today have gone through their specialist subject rounds, and we are left with two for our remaining players to pick. So, our options today are Equaliser or Reo Rangatira. So Stella, Millie and Hugh, please vote for which one you would like to play now. Thank very much. All of our votes locked in. So, let's firstly start with Stella, who has chosen... Reo Rangatira. Millie has voted for... Equaliser. So it falls onto Hugh's shoulders ` who has picked... Equaliser. Thank you, everyone, for your votes. Let's play Equaliser. Relatively close scores between you all, so truly anyone's game at the moment, as well. Best of luck. Reminder ` 30 points if you get it correct, but buzz in and answer the equation wrong ` you will lose 30 points. Here comes your first equation. Hugh. - 81. (POSITIVE CHIME) - Is correct. Hugh. - 53. (POSITIVE CHIME) - Also correct. Hugh, taking the lead. Hugh. - 327. (POSITIVE CHIME) - Is correct. Hugh is three for three. Next up ` Millie. - 46. (NEGATIVE CHIME) 41. Sorry, Millie. Your final Brainteaser ` Hugh. - 110. (POSITIVE CHIME) That's correct. And just like that, that is the Brainteaser complete. Thank you so much for playing this round. Let's take a look at the leaderboard. Hugh ` very impressive in our Brainteaser ` has him top of the leaderboard with 240 points. Stella has 140 points, and Millie ends up on 60 points. Needed to go for it in the end there, Millie. Just couldn't quite get there. So, for you, your time on Brain Busters is up, but you get to go home with a $100 bank account. So, what are you going to do with the money, Millie? - I'm going to save up to buy a camera. - Nice choice. Good luck with all the photography. Thank you for coming on the show, and congratulations to Stella and to Hugh. You are both through to the Brain Buster. - This is where champions are made. Only the best of the best make it this far, but only one will be cashing out. Who's it going to be? Stay right there. Don't move a muscle. Be back. * We asked you the term for owing someone money. The word is debt. - Kia ora, and welcome back to Brain Busters. Our four players have gone through Mega Memory, they've tackled their specialist subject, and now it's on to the big one. It's the Brain Buster! - The moment of truth. I'm up here with our two finalists, Stella and Hugh. Now, Stella. Volleyball's your sport? - Yup. - Set, dig or spike? - Set. Well, let's hope you're ready set to go on the Brain Buster. And Hugh, sailing is your thing, right? - Yes, it is. - Ready to sail through the Brain Buster? - I definitely am. - All right. Let's go, yo. Less talk, more action. Let's jump up on our seats, and let's get ready to rock and roll. All set? Here we go. Three, two, one, go! Hugh and Stella sail across the Brain Stem zip line and in to the Brain Buster. They both seem ready, but there can only be one winner here today. Off to a quick start, speeding across these molecule steps. Stella getting her code and heading through the Corpus Callosum. Hugh does the same. I don't think either player has an advantage yet. This could come down to who makes the first mistake. No mistakes on the Hippocampus, though, as both codes have been entered successfully. Now onto the Parietal Lobe. Who's going to make it to the top first? Looks like Stella, but just by a hair. Hugh knows he's got to make up for lost time now. Both players going through the tunnel. This is a close one. And Hugh makes it out first onto the Frontal Lobe. Both in a hurry to get to the DNA Molecule switchers. Usually the first one to the correct combination ends up winning the race. Who's going to make it there first? It's Stella. But Hugh was right there too. Ooh, the tension. Whoa, they both activated at the same time. Hugh and Stella down the ladder and through the Basal Ganglia ` Stella slightly ahead. Chris, that was crazy! - (EXCLAIMS) What a race, there! Bring it across, Stella. Firstly, Hugh, that was so close ` just got caught on the last part of the obstacle. How was the race? - It was a pretty fun race. - Pretty fun race. You've done an amazing job. So, so close at the end. Second, today, on Brain Busters. Get to go home with a $100 bank account. What are you going to do with the money, Hugh? - Think I'll set aside mine till international travel is back. - Nice work, Hugh. Good luck with all those international travels. Fingers crossed we can get there sooner rather than later. As we go across, now, to you, Stella. Brain Busters champion, there. Did you think you had it all the way through? - Yep. - You did. I love the confidence. I think it was such a close race from both of you. How does it feel to be our winner, and champion of Brain Busters today? - Really good. - Excellent. So, for Stella, it is now on to Amygdala. Stella, welcome to the Amygdala, and what a journey you've had to get here. Now, of course, Hugh also had a really good round today, as well. In fact, he picked up 240 points, and you get to claim all of those. Add that with your 140 points ` you are now playing for $380. A lot of money, Stella. - Yep. - Want to win it all? - Yes. - That's what I like to hear. All right. Each question is worth $38. Best of luck. Here's the first one. What is the name of the popular plant that a monarch butterfly will feed on? - Swan plant. (POSITIVE CHIME) Great start. While male New Zealand artist released the single Welcome Home in 2005? - I'm not sure. - Give it a guess. - Um, Bob Dylan. (NEGATIVE CHIME) - Dave Dobbyn. What is the name given to a glass gardening structure with walls and a roof? - A greenhouse. (POSITIVE CHIME) - Correct. How many sides does a hexagon have? - Six. (POSITIVE CHIME) - Also correct. Nice start. Which two celebrities formerly made up the couple who were labelled Brangelina? - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. (POSITIVE CHIME) - Yes. Nice work. What is the name given to the chemical reaction that takes place inside a plant producing food for the plant to survive? - Photosynthesis. (POSITIVE CHIME) - That's correct. Consisting of membrane, shell and yolk, what do we normally call this food? - An egg. - Confident with that answer. - Yep. - It'll take us past $200. (POSITIVE CHIME) And you've got it. Where in Australia would you find the world famous cricket ground, the MCG? - Melbourne. - Melbourne locked in. Didn't seem too sure on that answer, Stella. Heard of it before? - Yeah. - MCG is correct, yes ` Melbourne Cricket Ground. The band six60 is named after the street number of the flat where they lived in which New Zealand city? - Dunedin. - Quick to answer that one, as well. Is it Dunedin? (POSITIVE CHIME) Yes, it is. Incredible job here, Stella. Here comes your last one ` in which region of New Zealand would you find the Abel Tasman National Park? - Tasman. - Tasman locked in as our final Amygdala answer. Some good money already. Can we add to it? (POSITIVE CHIME) Absolutely, we can. Stella, congratulations. Let's take a look. $342. What a round of Amygdala. What are you going to do with the money? - I'm going to save it cos I wanna buy a new phone. - Nice choice, Stella. Hey, thank you so much for coming on the show. And really, really strong finish there. - Well done, Stella. If you think you can take on the Brain Buster just like Stella did, jump online and head to: - Thank you so much for joining us today.
