We have four more players battling it out to see if they can be called the ultimate Brain Buster. Now, first, they'll go through their specialist subject rounds chosen from our six options. They'll hope to get enough points to avoid elimination and stay in this game. So let's meet our players now. First up, we have Rian. Rian, great to have you here on the show. Everyone says that I'm terrible at that, so I appreciate that, Rian. All the best you in the game. Next up, we have Greta. Greta, I hear you want to be an early childhood teacher when you're older. - Yeah. - Why do you want to do that? - Cos I love little kids. They're just so cute. - Awesome! Great to have you on the show as well. We also have Lincoln. Right into your surfing? - Yeah. - How long have you been surfing for? - Since I was 9. - What's the biggest waves you've been in? - About 6ft to 8ft ` Sumner. - Were you scared at all? - Kinda. - I definitely would be. I wouldn't do it in the first place. But great to have you on the show also, Lincoln. And last, but not least, Charlotte. So a very tricky start to Brain Busters today in our Mega Memory round, but I'm sure there's going to be plenty of points to be had now as we move into our specialist subjects, and starting us off today, it is Greta. So, what have we chosen to play, Greta? - Blueprinter. - Thank you very much, Greta. Let's play Blueprinter. So let's get those first lot of points on the board for Greta. Please step forward. Time to test your memory. 30 seconds on the clock to memorise our blueprint, and then you have 30 seconds to input all your answers. Ready to go? - Yep. - Let's take a look at today's Blueprinter. It is the Mississippi River system. Best of luck. Your time starts now. The Mississippi River is part of North America's great migration route for both birds and fish. It flows over 3700km from Lake Itasca through the middle of the USA, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. (TENSE ELECTRONIC MUSIC) 10 seconds left, Greta. (ALARM WHOOPS) And just like that, that is time. Hopefully, you've got all of those locked in. You're now gonna have 30 seconds to put in your answers. That time starts now. (TENSE PERCUSSIVE MUSIC) Halfway. Plenty of time to spare, Greta, so you must be feeling confident. - Yeah, I think so. - Good to hear. Let's take a look. First one is correct. Nice work. You got Illinois. Plus Minnesota. Great start. And New Orleans. Missed out on Tennessee, though. And Kansas. And couldn't get Arkansas there at the end either. A really great start, though, so thank you so much for playing Blueprinter, Greta. - Thanks. - Greta has first place with 80 points. Rian is on 10 points, Lincoln has zero points and Charlotte has zero points So, next to play is Lincoln, and what have you chosen today, Lincoln? - Reo Rangatira. - Awesome, Lincoln. Let's play Reo Rangatira. He could surf some pretty high waves, but how is his Te Reo? Let's find out. Lincoln, please step forwards. (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) Ready to go? - Yep. - How are the nerves? - OK. - (LAUGHS) All right, 20 points for each correct answer. Now, a reminder ` you can't lose points in this round, OK? (DING!) - It's correct. There we go. A nice finish to Reo Rangatira. Lincoln, thank you so much for playing. You can take a step back to your podium. Greta still has the lead with 80 points. Lincoln is on 40 points, Rian is on 10 points, and Charlotte is yet to score. So we still have two of our players ready to take on their specialist subject round, and all of our players are hoping they've got what it takes to head to the Brain Buster. - It's not going to be easy for our final two. They've got to stay cool, calm and collected if they want to take on this beast right here. Better tell 'em, Chris. - Don't worry, Mikey. They're all over it. And don't forget ` you can play from home as well. Simply head online to Heihei Games. Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back for more Brain Busters. * Nau mai hoki mai. Welcome back to Brain Busters. Now, just before the break, we had Greta and Lincoln take on their specialist subject rounds, and next to step to the front, it is Charlotte. So what have you chosen to play, Charlotte? - I've chosen Equaliser. - Great choice. Thank you so much, Charlotte. Let's play Equaliser. Time to test her mathematical ability. Charlotte, please step forward. (TENSE MUSIC) So, do you think you're pretty good at maths, Charlotte? - Um, I hope so. (LAUGHS) - Let's find out. 20 points for each correct equation. Charlotte moves up to second and has 60 points. Lincoln is on 40 points and Rian is on 10 points. So we just have one final player to take on this specialist subject today, and that is Rian. What have you chosen to play? - Sequencer. - Thank you very much. Let's play Sequencer. Hoping to impress all those Insta followers, Rian, please step forward. (TENSE MUSIC) How are the nerves, Rian? Feeling good? - Oh, yep, pretty good. - Feeling confident? - Yeah. - All right, let's get straight into it. Here comes your first sequence. Sequence these social media platforms from earliest to most recent. Quite the social media guy, I bet, so surely, we got this first one right. Nice work, Rian. Order these US presidents by the period they were in power, oldest to most recent. US history, Rian. How is it? - Oh, pretty good. - Let's see. Nicely done. In which order were these Twilight Saga films released? Big question is if you're a Team Edward or a Team Jacob kind of guy, Rian. - Oh, Mum watches a lot of Twilight, so she'd probably be real angry if I get this wrong. - (LAUGHS) Let's find out. Nice work, Rian. Put these mountains in order from tallest to shortest. Happy with that one? - Yeah, 100%. - All right. Great job, Rian. In which order were vaccinations for these diseases developed? Been good so far. Can we get another one? (BUZZER BLARES) - Ah. - Unfortunately not. Moving on to our final sequence, Rian. In what order were these invented? Final Sequencer. Can we end with seeing all green? (BUZZER BLARES) Unfortunately not. A whole lot of red instead. (LAUGHS) Of course, that is the correct order there. But Rian, congratulations. Thank you so much for playing at Sequencer. - Thank you. - So, now that Rian has completed his specialist round, all of our players are done, so let's take a look at the final standings. Rian jumps to top of the leaderboard with 90 points, Greta has 80 points, Charlotte has 60 points and Lincoln has 40 points. So, unfortunately, we do need to eliminate our first player today, and today, that is you, Lincoln. Sorry. Thank you so much for coming on the show. Not going home empty-handed, though. A $100 bank account is all yours. So what are you going to do with that money, Lincoln? - Probably save up for a new surfboard. - Nice. All the best out there shredding those waves, man. Thank you so much for coming on to the show. And congratulations for our three remaining players. It's one step closer to the Brain Buster. - With one gone, our three remaining players gotta stay focussed. They're going to need determination if they want to make it to the Amygdala. - Thanks for that, Mikey. But first, we have a thing in place called our Brain Teaser. Now, all of our players have gone through their specialist subject rounds, and we are left with two options for our players to choose from. Today, those options are Identifier or Spellbinder. So, Rian, Greta, and Charlotte, please select which one you would like to play now. Thank you, everyone, for voting. Let's firstly take a look and see what Rian has chosen. Spellbinder. Greta has selected... Identifier. So it's down to Charlotte, who has chosen... Identifier. Thank you, everyone, for your votes. Let's play Identifier. Our scores are still very close today, so very much anyone's game. Best of luck to all of you. Let's get straight into our Brain Teaser ` Identifier. Charlotte. - Aids in hearing,... is not a bone,... and smaller in men than women. - Charlotte needs some points here if she wants to stay in this game. Can she do it with this one? Needed to swap out 'is not a bone' for 'produces wax'. Still more chances, though. Micro-organism, atom, organism. Rian buzzing in straight away. - Atom, micro-organism, organism. - Rian chosen his order. Is it the correct one, though? Yes, it is. Rian extending his lead. Rian. - Owl, bat, and... hedgehog. - Rian buzzing in again ` wants some more points. And he gets them. Sunlight zone, trench, midnight zone. Put these three` Charlotte. - Sunlight zone, midnight zone, trench. - Charlotte really needs this one. And she's done it. Nice work, Charlotte. Pupa, Larva, Egg. Charlotte. - Egg... larva, pupa. This is really needed for Charlotte. Can she do it here, or has she got the wrong order? No, she hasn't. She's got the right order. Nice work, Charlotte. And just like that, that is our Brain Teaser done and dusted. Thanks for playing. Let's take a look at our updated leaderboard. Rian extends that lead out to 150 points. Charlotte has 90 points and Greta has 80 points. So, unfortunately, Greta, you have been eliminated from Brain Busters. The other two didn't even give you a chance to buzz in on the Brain Teaser round! But you get to go home with a $100 bank account. So what are you going to do with that money, Greta? - Um, I think I'll buy my friend something. - That is very nice of you, Greta. Thanks for coming on the show. As for Ryan and Charlotte, though, it's time for the Brain Buster. - This is where the stars shine bright, and only one can shine the brightest. Who will be crowned as today's Brain Buster? Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back. * - Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale is usually just called EFTPOS. Kia ora and welcome back to Brain Busters. Over the course of the show, four players have now become two. So let's head over to Mikey to see who can be called the ultimate Brain Buster. - Rian and Charlotte are our final two ready to take on the Brain Buster. Now, Rian, volleyball's your sport, man? - Absolutely. - Spike or dig, bro? - Spiking. - Good choice, man. And Charlotte, really tall girl. You think that'll help you win today? - Hopefully, it should. - Awesome. Let's hope so. All the best to you both. It's time now to jump on our seats. Let's get ready to fly. Here we go. Three, two, one, go! Rian and Charlotte crossing the brainstem zip line, and they have now arrived in the Brain Buster. I'm sure Rian's Instagram followers will be cheering him on, but I'm not sure how much that'll help. Charlotte's height, on the other hand, could give her an advantage. Here they go over the molecule steps and into the corpus callosum. Hope they've got those codes memorised as they head over to the hippocampus. Punching them in, and... both codes are good! Pretty even race so far as they both climb the parietal lobe. Whoa! Rian's had enough of it being a close race. He shoots ahead! As Charlotte still makes her way up the wall, Rian pops out of the end of the tunnel. This is huge. Charlotte not too far behind, though. She's into the tunnel, and Rian is speeding his way across the frontal lobe. Come on, Charlotte. You can catch up! Let's see how Rian goes with the switches. Oh, man! That didn't take long at all! Rian can now head through the basal ganglia. Charlotte still crossing the frontal lobe. Rian has this in the bag now, though, making his 2000 Insta followers proud. Charlotte gets her side activated pretty quickly, too, and now she heads to the finish. A great effort from these two, Chris. What a race. - And that is our race finished! Bring it across this way, Rian. We'll start with you, Charlotte. Wow, you are really tall, aren't you?! (LAUGHS) Congratulations on completing the Brain Buster. Did we enjoy it? - Yeah, it was heaps of fun. - What do we like most about an obstacle course? - Um... all of it really. Yeah. - That's the correct answer. Well, hey, congratulations, Charlotte, on coming to Brain Busters today. You get to go home with a $100 bank account. So what are you going to do with that money? - I'm going to buy some new togs. - Cool choice! Thank you so much for coming on once again, Charlotte. Rian, congratulations ` today's Brain Buster champion. Did you think you had it in you to take it out? - Oh, absolutely. I was winning from the start. - Oh, that's the confidence we like to hear. But we still have one more obstacle to get over, and that is, of course, Amygdala. (TENSE MUSIC) Rian, well, you said you were confident from the start, and here you are. Luck of the Irish on your side? - Yes, absolutely. - Well done on getting to the Amygdala. So, you scored 150 points throughout the course of today, and Charlotte scored 90 points, so you get to take all the Charlotte's points and we turn those into dollars ` $240 we can possibly win today. What vegetables have types including Ilam Hardy and Agria? - Apples? (BUZZER BLARES) - Potatoes. What made you say that? - I've heard the motto before and I knew it was four words, so I was thinking of it. (DING!) - It is. Well done. Whose main claim to fame is her century-long snooze thanks to the curse of the wicked fairy Maleficent? - Sleeping Beauty. - Sleeping Beauty. - I'm having doubts about this now, cos my sister watches all the movies. She'll probably kill me if I get this wrong. (DING!) - I think you're safe from your sister. - Yeah. - Which New Zealand artist featured on the hit song Somebody That I Used To Know? - Oh, I know the song. Um... Lloyd? I think. I'll go with Lloyd. - Lloyd locked in as our answer. (BUZZER BLARES) Unfortunately not. The correct answer was Kimbra. In which city is the Coliseum located? - Rome, in Italy. - Rome... (DING!) ...is the correct answer. Final Amygdala question coming up. Sandy, Mr Krabs, Squidward, Gary, Patrick and Mrs Puff are all characters on which TV show? - SpongeBob Squarepants. - You seemed to know that answer as soon as I started talking. - Yeah, cos I watch the show every day. - Definitely SpongeBob? - 100%. (TENSE MUSIC) (DING!) - SpongeBob Squarepants is correct, as we take a look ` $168. Rian, congratulations. It is all yours. So what are you going to do with the money? - I'll treat the missus to a night out. - (LAUGHS) Brilliant choice. I'm sure she's really going to appreciate that.
