And because we have a three way tie, I will just go from my left to right, which means, Marley, you get to go first. What have you chosen to play? - I have chosen Reo Rangatira. - Awesome. Let's play Reo Rangatira. Marley, please step forward. So who's your favourite rugby player, Marley? - Probably Jonah Lomu. Oh, great choice. What a legend of the game. Let's see if he can be a legend here on Brain Busters as well. Here comes your first Reo Rangatira question. What is an English way to say korero? - Talk. - Great start. What have you chosen to play? - I have chosen Equaliser. - Thank you very much. Let's play Equaliser. Yash, please step forward. So you didn't manage to invent any technology to help you in Brain Busters? - No, nothing. - Nothing we should know about? All right, let's get into Equaliser then. Best of luck. Here comes your first equation. 20.5... Wait, no. One? - Negative one. - 352? - Correct. - 18. - He's on a roll. - 12. 31. Negative four. - Eight, the answer. Last equation. - 29. Is the right answer, Yash, congratulations. Thank you so much for playing. Marley still has the lead with 120 points. Yash moves into second with 80 points, Henry has 30 points and Reese has zero points. So still plenty of points to be had as we move on to our remaining players for their specialist subject rounds. But everyone is wondering if they are going to be able to get to the Brain Buster. - For today's final two contestants, I hope have been working out, because it's about to go down. Two players, one winner can't get better than that, Chris. It sure can't, Mikey. And don't forget, you can play from home as well. Just get online to HEIHEI games. Do not go anywhere. We'll see you a muri i te whakata. * Kia ora and welcome back to Brain Busters. Just before the break, Marley and Yash took on their specialist subject rounds, and next to play is Reese. So what have you chosen, Reese? - I've chosen Sequencer. - Thank you very much. Let's play Sequencer. Reese, please step forward. What do you think, happy with zero, or shall we get some points on the board? - Might help to get some points? - I think you're right. We'll get straight into it, Reese. Best of luck. Here comes your first sequence. Place these ways of scoring in rugby union in order from most to least points. Most to least points was the sequence. Was it the right way around? Needed to swap it the other way. In which order did these revolutions take place? Looking for those points, come on. There we go. Well done Reese. In what order were these things invented? Had it the other way around, but decided to change. And it was the right thing to do. In which order with these films released from earliest to most recent? A little bit unsure between Frozen and Despicable Me, went with that order though. And needed to swap it, had it as well. But that's OK, Reese, thank you so much for playing sequencer. - Thank you. - You can take your step back to your podium. Marley has 120 points. Yash has 80 points, Reese has 40 points, and Henry has 30 points. So it's just Henry left to tackle his specialist subject round. And what are you playing, Henry? - Chris, I'll be playing spellbinder. - Great choice. Let's play Spellbinder. Henry, please step forward. How are you feeling, Henry? - Very nervous. - Very nervous? - Yeah. - You seem very excited, though, as well. - I am. - That's all that matters, Man. Let's turn that nervous energy into some serious points, OK? - OK. - You got this first word. Please spell 'Kernels'. - Could I please have that in a sentence? - I left all the un-popped popcorn kernels at the bottom of the bowl. Correct. 'Pedigree'. - Sentence, please? - The dog has a great pedigree. - Strong start. 'Righteous.' Well done. 'Delivery.' Also correct. 'Indignant.' 'Preposterous.' - P-R-O-P` - P-R-E-P... Final word, threat. There you go. Talk about using that nervous energy, Henry. Well done. Very close to a perfect score. - Thank you. - Thank you for playing Spellbinder. - Thank you. - A great way to finish up our specialist subject round. So let's take a look now at the leaderboard. Henry has 150 points. Marley sits on 120 points, Yash is on 80 points and Reese is on 40 points. So, Reese, I'm sorry to say, but you have been eliminated from Brain Busters. A pleasure having you on the show. And you get to go home with a $100 bank account. So what are you going to do with that money, Reese? - I'm probably gonna put towards buying a record player. - A record player. What's gotten you into that? - Well, we have one at home and I want one in my room. I see, play your own music. Don't have to listen to Mum and Dad's. - Yeah. - Great decision. Thank you so much for coming on the show, Reese. And congratulations to our three remaining players. One step closer to the Brain Buster. - Our three remaining players have to stay locked in and focussed if they want to go to the amygdala. It's not going to be easy, I tell you. Let 'em know, Chris. - And we need to get to two as well, Mikey. So to do that, we have the Brainteaser. Now, all the players have gone through this specialist subject rounds and we are left with two remaining options for our players to choose from today. They are identifier and blueprint set. So Henry, Marley and Yash, please select which one you would like to play now. Thank you all for voting. Let's first take a look and see what Henry has chosen. Identifier. Marley has voted for identifier as well, and Yash has chosen identifier. Three for three. So let's play identifier 30 points up for grabs here for each correct answer. Buzz in and get it wrong, though, you do lose 30 points. So here we go. Identify three places where fresh water is naturally stored on` Henry. - Glaciers, lakes and aquifers. - Henry, currently in the lead, wants to extend that though. And does. Well done Henry. Nelson, Dunedin, Wellington. Arrange these New Zealand cities by population. Marley. - Wellington, Dunedin, Nelson. - That is correct, Marley. Identify three Great Lakes of North America. Yash. - Michigan, Benmore and Ontario. - Needed swap it for Superior. Pomegranates, coconuts, pineapple ` Henry. - Pineapple, coconut, pomegranate. - Yes, that is the correct order, Henry. More points for him now. Finally, identify the three particles that are part` Yash. - Protons, electrons, neutron. - Speedy answering that. Is it correct? Absolutely, well done Yash. Well done every one. Thank you so much for playing the Brain Teaser round. Let's take a look now at the leaderboard. Henry has 210 points. Marley has 150 points. Then we have Yash on 80 points. So, Yash, I'm sorry to say, but you have been eliminated from Brain Busters. Thanks heaps for coming onto the show. And you get to go home with a $100 bank account. So what are you going to do with that money, Yash? - I plan to save it on some antique piece or a brand new phone. - Nice choice. I was expecting something technology there. Good to have you on the show, Yash. Thank you very much. And congratulations to our two remaining players. It's now on to the Brain Buster. - This is where upper-body strength, lower-body strength and heart will be tested to see if today's brain buster contestants have what it takes. Two players, one winner, who will it be? We'll find out very soon. * - Welcome back to Brain Busters. Today, our players have gone through Mega Memory, their specialist subject rounds, the Brainteaser, and now it's time for the Brain Buster. - I'm joined here with our top two players, Henry and Marley, well done to you both for making it this far. Now, Henry, I know you just started playing hockey. What got you into hockey, man? - My dad was amazing at it when he was a kid, and I just really wanted to be like him. - Awesome, man. Well, I'm sure Dad is proud that you made it this far. You ready to take on the Brain Buster? - I am. - Awesome. Best of luck to you. And Marley, I know rugby's your sport. How do you think that's going to help you win today? - I think my strength will help. - Oh, nice. Nice. You're gonna need that, especially climbing up the Parietal Lobe. Best of luck to you both. It's now time to jump on to our zip lines and let's get ready to fly. Nice. Here we go. Three, two, one, fly! Henry has a 60 point lead over Marley, but will he be able to hold on to that lead by winning this race? Off to a quick start. Down the Neurotransmitter and on to the Molecule Steps. Get a good look at that code, because it's needed after the Corpus Callosum. Marley's got to close that gap before it's too late. Henry now at the Hippocampus and Marley just behind. Codes are both in and unlock the Parietal Lobe. These two athletes are rocketing up. It's hard to tell who's going to make it up first. Henry still holds the lead and rushes through the Tunnel Web. He's quick, but Marley is having to work extra hard to try to keep up. The Frontal Lobe is where everything could change though. It all depends who can get the correct number combination first to then finish the race. Marley on her way across as Henry tries those numbers, he has time on his side now. Can he do it? Yes. His sign has lit up, but his shoe isn't quite ready for the race to be over. See ya, shoe. The Basal Ganglia is the finale and he may be shoeless, but, Henry, you absolutely smashed it. Henry's lead was just too much for Marley to come back from. Coming up to the end now, over and under the Basal Ganglia. Nicely done, Marley. Another superb race, Chris. - And there goes Marley. Great stuff. Henry, I'll get you to bring it across this way. Come across. Marley, we'll start with you. Strength you said was going to help you and it looked like it did there. Up the wall you looked like you were catching Henry, but in the end just couldn't quite catch him. Was it a whole lot of fun going on the course though? - Yeah, it was. - Out of breath still as well. But a fantastic job. Second place today on Brain Busters. So what are you going to do with that $100 bank account? - Probably save it up till I need it. Yeah. - Fair enough. All the best with rugby as well, Marley. Henry, raced through that course. Put a lot of effort into it. So much so, we've actually had a bit of a casualty. We've lost a shoe. - Yeah. - (LAUGHS) I think it's still up there stuck in the course. - It is, yeah. - But how much fun was it? - It was amazing. Thank you. - Loved it? Well, Henry, congratulations. For you, there's one thing left to do, and that is, of course, Amygdala. Henry, welcome to Amygdala. - Thank you. - You said you were quite nervous all the way through, but here you are, you've made it to the end. So how are the nerves now? - They are a lot better, thanks. - A lot better. That's good. Especially now, because this is where it all matters. This is where we start to play for the serious money, OK? And you've had a fantastic run on the show as well. Nearly a perfect score in that specialist round,... - Almost. - ...and then raced through the Brain Buster as well for a total of 210 points. And Marley also did very well ` 150 points. So we combine both of those together, and Henry, you are playing for $360. - (INHALE SHARPLY) - A fair bit of money. - Oh yeah. - Shall we try win you as much as we can? - Yes, please. - Perfect. Let's get into it. Question number one. Your pulse is caused by the beating of which organ? - The heart. - Correct. What are driven fast in the Fast and Furious movies? - Cars. - Newton described the light spectrum as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and what other colour? - Violet. - Well done. Which brand uses the glass and a half line in the advertising? - Cadbury. - Which ingredient makes bread rise? - Yeast. - Correct. Which vegetable shares its name with a racket sport? - (INHALES) Squash. - Confident with that one? - Very. - Is that the sport we're talking about? Yes, it is. Which animated movie follows a trash-collecting robot in space? - Wall-E. - Some fantastic animated movies released over the years. Is that the one we're talking about here? - It definitely is. - No question about it. - No. - What makes you so sure? - Because I've seen it and it's a pretty good movie. - (SUCKS IN THROUGH TEETH, SIGHS) Correct. Impressive stuff here. How many swans are swimming in the 12 days of Christmas song? - Four? - Know your Christmas carols pretty well, would you say? - Not really. I don't sing many. - Don't go carolling around the neighbourhood? - Definitely not. - Four? - (WINCES) - Seven... - Aw. - ...was the answer. Make sure you put that song back in your pocket next time you go carolling. - (CHUCKLES) Yeah. - What does the EB in the store name EB Games stand for? - Not sure. - Well, give it a guess. - Uh, electric... bike. - Electric bike? - Definitely not. - Electronics Boutique. - Oh. - Last one. What colour is spinach? - Green. - (CHORTLES) can't help but think you were pretending to take your time on that one. So, we're talking, like, the green, like your top or, like, kind of a Brain Busters green? Or... - Probably more like the top. - OK. - Maybe a bit darker. - I'm struggling to picture it. But then again... - (CHUCKLES) - Is green our final answer for Amygdala? It sure is, Henry. Of course it's green as we take a look and you have won yourself $288, Henry. A great effort. Some great answers in there as well. What are you going to do with all the money? - I think I might start saving up for a car. - Nice. Start saving early as well. What car do you want? - A Ford Mustang. - A Ford Mustang. That's a start, but I think you might need a bit more help. - Yeah. - (CHUCKLES) Henry, great having you on the show. Thank you so much. - Well done, Henry, man. I'm sure you're happy with your performance, bro. - Thank you. - Awesome stuff. If you think you can take on the Brain Buster, just like our man Henry, jump online and head to Hei Hei games. - Thank you so much for joining us today. Until next time. That's us for Brain Busters.
