I might have to get you to write some for me, because I've got no chance of being any good at it. Next up, we have Maddie. Right into your horse riding? - Yeah, I've been riding since I was five or six and currently getting my friend's pony back into work. So keeping her fit and exercised. - Awesome. In which order would you find these primary colours in a dictionary? Hoping to get that first lot of points on the board for Jesse. Awesome stuff. Arrange these birds from biggest to smallest. Correct again. Well done, Jesse. In what order with these invented? Going for three in a row here. Needed to swap that order around though. Would have been right, Jesse. Arrange these famous Kiwis into the order they were born from earliest to latest. Back on track. Nice work. In what order were these accomplishments first achieved by a woman? Just need a swap Win an Oscar for Best Director and Became Presidential Nominee of a Major US Party there. Unfortunate end to Sequencer. Still, thank you very much for playing Jesse. Maddie still has the lead with 120 points. Jesse now has 60 points. Elisabeth is on 30 points, and William is on 10 points. So a fantastic start to Brain Busters today, and everyone is wondering if they're going to have enough points to get to the Brain Buster. - A great challenge lays ahead for our top two competitors. Will they be climbing up the Parietal Lobe, racing through the Corpus Callosum and flying on the Brainstem Zip line? But only one will get the chance to turn their points into money, money, mo' money. - Thank you very much, Mikey. And don't forget, you can play from home as well. Simply head online to Hei Hei Games. Do not go anywhere. We'll be right back i muri i te whakata. * Nau mai, hoki mai and welcome back to Brain Busters. Just before the break, we had Maddie and Jesse take on their specialist subject rounds, and next to play is William. What have you chosen to play, William? - Equaliser. - Thank you very much. Let's play Equaliser. William, please step forward. (TENSE MUSIC) All right, William, how are the nerves? Feeling good? - Yeah. - Good to go. All right, 20 points for each correct equation. Here comes your first one. That is correct. Correct again. Well done. Great stuff. Well done. Finally ` 328 is absolutely correct. Well done, William, very close to a perfect score. Still, six out of seven is pretty, pretty good. Thank you very much for playing Equaliser. William now has the lead with 130 points. Maddie is close behind on 120 points. Jesse has 60 points, and Elisabeth has thirty points. So we just have one more player left to take on their specialist subject round, and that player is Elisabeth. So what have you chosen to play? - Blueprinter. Thank you very much, let's play Blueprinter. Elisabeth, please step forward. (TENSE MUSIC) So, everyone has gone before you, Elisabeth. Last to go. So are we feeling the pressure? - A little bit, yeah. - A little bit? Well, hey, you did well after Mega Memory, so let's see if we can get back up to the top of the leaderboard. So, we're playing Blueprinter now, you're gonna have 30 seconds to memorise what our Blueprinter is. 30 seconds then to put in your answers? Good luck. Let's see what it is. Your Blueprinter is the ASB Marlborough Theatre. Best of luck. Your time starts now. The ASB Theatre Marlborough opened in 2016 and overlooks Blenheim's Taylor River. It has two theatres within the complex that can seat 700 and 100 people. Since its opening, it's played host to a huge range of performing arts and concerts, functions and conferences. 10 seconds left, Elisabeth. (TENSE MUSIC) Time is up 30 seconds now to put in all your answers. Best of luck once more. Your time starts now. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) Ten seconds left of. And that is it. Elisabeth, how well do you think you've gone? - I think I did decently. - Decently? OK, we can work with that. We can work with that. First one, please. Stage dock is correct. Truck dock makes two. Three in a row. Seating is correct. Riverview Room, incorrect I'm afraid. So is the ticketing office. Stage house is correct though. So pretty good, Elisabeth. Well done. Thank you very much for playing Blueprinter. All of our players have now completed their specialist subject rounds, so let's take a look at the leaderboard. We have a tie at the top with William and Elisabeth, both on 130 points. Then we have Maddie on 120 points. Then Jesse on 60 points. So unfortunately, Jesse, I'm sorry to say, but you have been eliminated from Brain Busters. Thank you so much for coming on to the show. A $100 bank account is coming your way as well. So what are you going to do with that money? - Probably put it towards a trip. - Awesome. Any plans on where to go? - Auckland. - Auckland. Cool place to be. Thank you so much for coming on to the show, Jesse, and congratulations to our three remaining players. For them, it's just one step closer to the Brain Buster. - One eliminated, which means our three remaining players can not miss a beat with any of their questions. Oh, feeling nervous? Not for me. For them, of course. - I'd be pretty nervous if I was you, Mikey. These guys are definitely very competitive. So, with that being said, let's get into our next round now, which we call the Brainteaser. All of our players have gone through their specialist subject rounds and we are left with two for our players to choose from. Today, those options are Reo Rangatira and Identifier. So William, Elisabeth and Maddie, please select which one you would like to play now. Thank you, everyone, for voting. William has chosen Identifier. Elisabeth selected Identifier as well. Maddie has a grin on her face. I think I know what she's picked. There it is. Identifier. So let's play Identifier. Just 10 points in it. Who is going to come out on top? I can't wait to find out. So let's get straight into it now. Here comes your first question. Maddie. - Kitchen scales, tape measure, and ruler. - Maddie gets this right, she'll have sole ownership of the lead. And she gets it. William. - Panther, leopard, puma. - Now, this will give William the lead. And now William gets it. Maddie. - Vertebrae, tendons, red blood cells. - Maddie wants her top spot back... And, again, she gets it. Elisabeth. - Aphid, praying mantis, weta. - That is correct. Well done, Elisabeth. And just like that, our brainteaser is complete. Thank you all very much for playing. Let's take a look at the scores. Our leaderboard has swapped upside down. We have Maddie now in first place with 180 points. And then William and Elisabeth share second with 160 points. So, we know that means. We now go to our tiebreaker round between Elisabeth and William. So it will only be you two playing. I will ask a question, the first person to buzz in and give me the correct answer will go through. If you buzz in and give me the incorrect answer, though, the other player will go through to the Brain Buster with Maddie. I wish you both the best of luck. Here comes your tiebreaker question. In music, what other term is used for a quaver? Elisabeth. - 8th note. - That is the correct answer. Congratulations, Elisabeth, you are through to the Brain Buster. William couldn't quite get there on that buzzer. So unfortunately, you have been eliminated from Brain Busters. Thank you so much for playing. A $100 bank account is all yours as well. What are you going to do with that money, William? - Save it up for a new laptop. - Oh, good choice, William. And all the best with the art. I really want to see the presidents one day, OK? Thank you very much, William. Congratulations to Elisabeth and Maddie. For them, it's on to the Brain Buster. - This is where the greats are separated from the rest. How far are they willing to go and how deep are they willing to dig? Two players, one winner. Stay right there. We'll be right back after the break. Stay right there. We'll be right back after the break. * Welcome back to the show. Our players have gone through Mega Memory, their specialist subject rounds, the brainteaser, and now it's time for this, the Brain Buster. - Our top two players are ready, set to go on an adventure through the Brain Buster. So let's get the show on the road. Three, two, one, fly. Maddie and Elisabeth, welcome to the ultimate obstacle course. Elisabeth is lucky to be here, only just getting past William in that tie breaker. Can she follow that up with a victory in the Brain Buster? Both players are off to a strong start, stepping across the Molecule steps. Oh, Elisabeth just about went past her screen without looking at the code. That's very important. She's got it now, as they both cross the Corpus Callosum and now arrive to enter that code into the Hippocampus. Maddie's is good. And how about Elisabeth? Nice one. Maddie quickly scaled the Parietal Lobe, and Elisabeth is right behind her. But seems to be having a bit of trouble finding her grip. Maddie enters the tunnel web, dragging herself along the bottom. Looks like Elisabeth has found her way up. Awesome stuff. And Maddie is now heading across the hanging discs of the Frontal Lobe. She's got a decent lead, but Elisabeth has emerged from her tunnel, so Maddie can't afford to slow down. Elisabeth joins Maddie on the Frontal Lobe. Will she be able to catch up here? There goes Maddie's side of the Brain Buster, activated by her switches. Not good news for Elisabeth, her chance of victory slipping away. Maddie darts under the first part of the Basal Ganglia. Elisabeth trying to find the combination. And Maddie makes it out on the other side of the Basal Ganglia and takes the win. Impressive stuff. Elisabeth activates her side of the Brain Buster, and she can head to the finish. An outstanding effort from both players today. But, Chris, it'll be Maddie moving on to the Amygdala. - Last thing to do is the buzzer. Nice work, Elisabeth. That's the race complete. High five from Maddie. Awesome stuff, guys. Great race. Thank you so much for competing. We'll start with you, Elisabeth. Second place today, but how much fun was that? - It was a lot of fun. - Really enjoyed it? - Yeah. - Great to hear. And of course, you get to go home with a $100 bank account. So what will you be doing with that money, Elisabeth? - I'll probably be spending it on some calligraphy nibs. - Oh, very nice choice. Still got to show me how to do it, all right? - Yeah. Thank you very much, Elisabeth. Maddie, congratulations. You are today's Brain Buster champion. Did you think you were going to be able to take it out? - I wasn't sure. - Yet here you are. But there is still one more thing left to do, Maddie. And of course, that is Amygdala. Maddie, welcome to Amygdala. - Thank you. - Ready to get into it? - Yep. - Well, you've done amazing so far on the show, just one more thing left to do. That is ten questions. Get through that, you are our Brain Busters champion. Awesome work today. So you scored 180 points. Elisabeth scored 170 points. So we put those together. And you are playing for a combined total of $350. A lot of money. Let's try win you as much as we can. What form of flying transport has a pilot in the cockpit? - Air... Aeroplanes. - Correct. Which car manufacturer produces models called Corolla and Prius? - Toyota. - Another guess? - Yep. - What made you pick Toyota over another car brand? - Just... know them.
