You've all done well, so let's take a look now at the scores. Declan has the lead with 40 points. Jasper is on 30 points. Lucy has 10, and Manaia is on zero points. So now we move into our specialist subject rounds, and starting us off today will be Manaia. What would you like to play, Manaia? - Reo Rangatira. - Awesome. Let's play Reo Rangatira. Manaia, please step forward. (ELECTRONIC MUSIC) First up for our specialist subject rounds ` Can we handle the pressure, Manaia? - Yes, I think so. - Good to hear. Let's get into it. Good luck. Manaia now has the lead with 100 points. Declan is on 40 points. Jasper has 30, and Lucy has 10 points. So time for our second player to come forward and have a go at their specialist subject round. That player is Lucy. What would you like to play today, Lucy? - I'm playing Identifier. - Excellent. Let's play Identifier. Lucy, please step forward. (ELECTRONIC MUSIC) So how's the hockey season gone, Lucy? - It's been pretty good. - How did we finish? - We got to the finals, but we came second. - Still second place. Take that. Hope to go one more up, though, today on Brain Busters. Well, it starts here with our special subject round. Good luck. Let's get in to Identifier. Nice start, Lucy. How do we feel about this one, Lucy? - A little nervous, but hopefully got them right. - Had two, but we needed the third. Yeah, absolutely right with that one, Lucy. How did we go with our earth metals, Lucy? (CHUCKLES) - Not so good, but hopefully. - Fingers crossed. - Yup. - Not a bad effort, that. Just needed to add Radium. Some tricky questions in there, Lucy, but you've played very well. Thank you very much for taking on Identifier. Manaia still has the lead with 100 points. Lucy moves into second place with 50 points. Declan has 40 points, and Jasper is on 30 points. So two of our players have already completed their specialist subject round, but all four are hoping they've got what it takes to head to the Brain Buster. - Getting closer to that time, where our top two will be here on the Brain Buster, going head to head to be today's champion. It's going to be a challenge, so let's hope they're up for it. - Let's hope so, Mikey. And don't forget, you can play from home as well. Simply hop online to Heihei Games. Don't go anywhere. We'll see you a muri e te whakata. * Hoki mai ano. Welcome back to Brain Busters. Just before the break, we had Manaia and Lucy take on their specialist subject rounds. And coming up next is Jasper. So what would you like to play, Jasper? - Equaliser. - Sounds good to me, Jasper. Let's play Equaliser. Jasper, please step forward. (ELECTRONIC MUSIC) Looking very chilled out, Jasper. - Yeah. - Feeling good? - A bit, yeah. - Nervous? - Kinda. - You don't seem nervous at all. Shall we just get into it? - Yeah. - Sweet as. Correct. Close on that one. Correct. Find the square root of that answer. 11 was the final answer to Equaliser. Jasper, so close so many times on a few of those Equaliser equations. But still a great job. Thank you for taking on Equaliser. Manaia has 100 points. Jasper has 70 points now. Lucy is on 50, and Declan has 40 points. So we have just one player remaining to take on their specialist subject round. And that player is, of course, Declan. What will you be playing today, Declan? - I'm playing Spellbinder. - Yes, you are. Let's play Spellbinder. Declan, please step forward. (ELECTRONIC MUSIC) 40 points after Mega Memory ` gotta be happy with that. - Yeah. How many more points can we add here? - Oh, 140. - That's the attitude. I like how you think, Declan. Let's get into it. Your first word is... select. Correct. Assemble. Correct. Spell linear. Well done. Pardon. Nice stuff. Worsening. - Could you put that in a sentence, please? - The flour shortages are worsening. E-N-I-N-G. Auger. Correct. And your final word is... railway. Well, you said 140 points. Couldn't quite get there. You probably should have had 140, though, and I think you know that. Still, really well-played. Thank you for taking on Spellbinder. A great way to finish our specialist subject round. So let's take a look now at the leader board. Declan now has the lead again with 160 points. Manaia has 100 points. Jasper is on 70, and Lucy has 50 points. So, unfortunately, we do need to eliminate our first player today on Brain Busters. And that will be you, Lucy. Sorry to see you go, but you do receive a $100 bank account. And what will you be doing with the money? - I'll probably just save it. Smart move, Lucy, and all the best with hockey as well. And congratulations to our three remaining players. For them, it's one step closer to the Brain Buster. - Three players left ` that means our top two will be in action very soon. But only one will be going home with that big cash prize. - Thank you very much for that, Mikey. And before we can get to the Brain Buster, we have our brain-teaser. Now, all of our players today have gone through their specialist subject rounds, and we're left with two options for our players to choose from. Today, those options are Blueprinter and Sequencer. So Manaia, Jasper and Declan, please select which one you would like to play now. Thank you, everyone, for voting. We will start with Manaia, who has decided to play... Blueprinter. Jasper would like to play... Sequencer. So Declan has the deciding vote, and Declan has chosen... Sequencer. There we go. Let's play Sequencer. Still plenty of points to be had here for our brain-teaser, so let's get straight into it now. Good luck, everyone. Here is your first sequence. Put these technologies into the order in which they were invented. Manaia. - A microphone, the mobile phone and wireless air pods. - Let's see if Manaia can get that first lot of 30 points. Yes, well-played, Manaia. In which order did these cartoons first appear on screen? Jasper. - The Flintstones, The Simpsons, The Seven Deadly Sins. - Jasper knows he needs these points to stay in this game. Can he get them? Sure can. Put this historical New Zealand events into their order of occurrence. Manaia. - Potatau Te Wherowhero became the first Maori King, the British settlers arrived, Waitangi Tribunal established. - This would tie Declan with the lead. But, unfortunately, we just needed to stop around those top two. Sorry, Manaia. Next up. In which order were these gaming consoles released, earliest` Jasper. - PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo. - Jasper went right before. Can he back it up here? Yes, indeed. Well done, Jasper. Thank you so much to everyone for playing that one. Let's take a look now at our final leader board. Declan holds on to first place with 160 points. Then we have Jasper on 130 points, followed by Manaia on 100 points. So we do now need to eliminate our second player today on Brain Busters. It was a very close battle for the brain-teaser. But, unfortunately, Manaia, we do have to say goodbye to you. Thank you so much for coming on to the show. A $100 bank account is now all yours. So what will you do with that money, Manaia? - Probably save most of it, but maybe just keep something in my spending account if I go anywhere. - Nice, Manaia. Great having you here. And congratulations to Jasper and to Declan For them, it's now on to the Brain Buster. - Two players, one winner. Who will be today's champ? We'll find out soon. * - The question was ` And the answer is in 1694. Nau mai, hoki mai, and welcome back to Brain Busters. We've had Mega Memory, our specialist subject rounds, the brain-teaser, and it comes down to this ` the Brain Buster. - It's now the moment of truth for our final two players, Jasper and Declan. Well done, boys, on making it this far. Now, I know, Jasper, that basketball is your sport. How'd you get into that, man? - Yeah, just my mates, eh? - Well, I'm sure your mates are happy that you made it this far. Are you ready to take on the Brain Buster? - Yeah. - All the best to you. Declan, surfing is your thing. How'd you get into that, man? - I walk my dog past the beach every day, and I see all the surfers out there, and I wanted to do that too. - Nice, you reckon your surfing skills can get you that today? - I hope so. - Best of luck to you both. It's now time to jump on to our zip lines. Lets get ready to fly. Here we go. Alu! We've got Jasper taking on Declan today in the ultimate obstacle course. Jasper's has been pretty laid-back throughout the episode, but he's going to need to get his game face on for this. Declan's already lagging behind a bit, so don't underestimate the cool, calm and collected Jasper. Surfing through the Corpus Callosum. Now let's Jasper's memory. Has he got the right code in his head? Nailed it! And how about Declan? Yes! And Jasper, with great ease, makes it up the Parietal Lobe. Impressive! Declan's not far behind, but he needs to pick up the pace if he wants to stay in the game. He's into the tunnel now. Jasper hits the Frontal Lobe. He's halfway to the DNA Molecule Ladders. Declan approaches. He's making his way across, as Jasper now looks for the combination on the switches. Declan's made it now too. Both players have activated their switches at the same time. Here comes Jasper and Declan. Can Jasper hold on to the lead? Only just, Chris! - Whoo! What a close race that ended up being! Jasper, I'll get you to come across this way. Declan, we'll start with you. Firstly, how's the back? Ran into the pole a bit there. (CHUCKLES) - It's OK. - All good there. Declan, what a race that ended up being. You were playing catch-up, and you almost did just that. Congratulations on a great race. - Yeah. - You did a fantastic job. Second place today on Brain Busters, meaning you've got yourself a $100 bank account. What will you be doing with the money? - I really want to buy a new skateboard. - Nice. Skate away, my friend. Congratulations. Jasper, you've taken out the Brain Buster. Still looking cool, calm and collected, as always. How do we feel? - Pretty good, yeah. - You've taken it out. Congratulations. One thing left for you to do, Jasper, and that is taking on Amygdala. From rugby star to Brain Busters champion. congratulations on making it here to the final round to Amygdala, Jasper. How does it feel, man? - Pretty good, yeah. - Did you think you were going to make it all the way here? - No. - But here we are. Nicely done. Really well played. You scored 130 points today. Declan actually got a couple more points than you. He scored 160. We combine those two together, and you're playing for $290. Best of luck. Let's get into Amygdala. What colour is the inside of a Jaffa? - White. - Eaten many Jaffas? - No. - Yeah, there are actually two options you could have picked, and you went for the least common option. Finally, for Amygdala ` would you put Dettol on a cut or a cake? - Cut. - Wouldn't put Dettol on a cake? - No. - Would you put all on a cut or a cake? You say cut. - (DING!) - And as you know, cut is right. Well done, Jasper. Let's take a look. $203 is all yours. Congratulations. What are you gonna do with the money? - Probably spend it at the dairy or Macca's. - (LAUGHS) That's a lot of money to spend on lollies and food. Can we do all of it? - Yeah. - You'll find a way. Jasper, great having you on the show. Congratulations. $203. - Well done, Jasper. Maybe you can go and buy some Jaffas, bro. - (LAUGHS) If you think you can take out the Brain Buster, just like our bro Jasper, jump online and head to Heihei Games. - Thank you so much for joining us today.
