Today, we have four players hoping they've got what it takes to be called the ultimate brain buster. We'll start with Mega Memory before moving into our specialist subject rounds where our players can choose from six of our options. They'll hope to gain enough points to stay in this game and avoid elimination. So let's meet our players. Firstly, Harrison, welcome to the game. Now, you have moved from England. When did you move? - I moved to New Zealand in August of 2018, where I stayed in Auckland for six months. And then after that, I moved down to Nelson. - Awesome. Love Nelson? - Yeah. - Beautiful place. Do we call ourselves a Kiwi yet, Harrison? - Not yet but... - In time? - ...we're getting there. - Very good, Harrison. Next up, we've got Apanui. Great to have here on the show. What do you like to do in your spare time, Apanui? - Oh, I like to play darts. - Have we ever hit that 180 before? - Yep. - All the time? - Oh... - Yeah. - Most of the time. - Most of the time, yeah. - (CHUCKLES) Great having you here, Apanui. Katie, welcome to the show. Right into horse riding. - Yeah. - Do you have your own horse? - Yeah, I've got two. - Lucky you! Where do we like to go horse riding? - In the forest. - I'm very jealous of that. Great having you here on the show, Katie. And we've also got Jordana, our dancer, as well. - What kind of dancing do we do? - Jazz and ballet. - Awesome. And you've got a couple of sisters as well. - Yep. - Do they dance also? - My younger sister does, but not my middle sister. - So you're the oldest? - Yeah. - So do we boss the sisters around? - Uh, yeah. - Sometimes? - (CHUCKLES) Yeah. - More than I should? I know how you feel, Jordana. Well, hey, let's get straight into the show today. Thank you all for coming. Let's play Mega Memory. As always, 90 seconds on the clock. Good luck to every one of you. Your time starts now. Is the region of Otago in the North or South Island? - Jordana. - South Island. - Do Lululemon make activewear or soft drinks? - Jordana. - They make activewear. Does the character Black Widow appear in The Avengers or the Wiggles? - Harrison. - The Avengers. - Which has the lower melting point: ice or steel? - Harrison. - Ice. - Which South Korean tech company makes the Galaxy Watch 3? - Jordana. - Samsung? - Which kind of food is a gobstopper? - Harrison. - Sweet. - The most common smiling face emoji is which colour? - Katie. - Yellow. - Was Abba an ancient city or a Swedish pop group? - Harrison. - Swedish pop group. - Which green vegetable is the main ingredient in a Caesar salad? - Harrison. - Lettuce. Did Shakespeare write Julius Marlowe or Julius Caesar? Harrison. - Ju` The first one, sorry. - It was the second one, Julius Caesar. And that is time up for Mega Memory. Thank everyone for playing it. Let's take a look at the scores. Harrison has 40 points. Jordana is on 30 points. Kate has 10 points, and Apanui has zero points. So now we move into our specialist subject rounds, and starting us off today it will be Apanui. - What do you want to play? - Reo Rangitira. - Sounds good. Let's play Reo Rangitira. Apanui, please step forward. All right, Apanui, let's get into Reo Rangitira now. Good luck. 20 points for each answer you get correct. What is a Maori word for flax? - Harakeke. - Correct. What is the number rima tekau in English? - 50. - Ae. What national park is home to these three volcanoes: Tongariro, Ngauruhoe, and Ruapehu? - Ngati Tuwharetoa. Translate this: E noho ana au ki Paihia. - I'm living in Paihia. - Correct. Ko wai te kingi Maori? - Kingi Tuheitia. - That is correct. Hakui, whaea, and mama are different Maori words used for what person in the whanau? - Mum. - Definitely is mum. Well done. A really great effort there. So close to a perfect score as well. What a way to start. Thank you for taking on Reo Rangitira. Apanui has 120 points. Harrison is on 40 points. Jordana has 30 points, and Katie is on 10 points. So time for our second player to step forward now, and that player will be Katie. - What would you like to play? - Blueprinter. - Thank you very much, Katie. Let's play Blueprinter. Katie, please step forward. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) So you're going to have 30 seconds to have a look at what the Blueprinter is, and then you'll have a further 30 seconds to put in your answers. - Hope your memory's up to speed. Good luck. - Thank you. Here comes your Blueprinter. It's the Sydney Opera House. Your time starts now. The distinctive Sydney Opera House is one of the world's most recognisable buildings and has played host to many famous musical acts and personalities, including the Queen. It was also where Arnold Schwarzenegger won his final Mr Olympia body-building title in 1980. 10 seconds left. (TENSE MUSIC) That's time. You'll now have 30 seconds to put in your answers, which starts... now. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) Speedy putting those all in. Are you happy with your answers? - I think so. Yeah. - OK. Let's see a whole lot of green. Terrace is correct. Gallery also correct. You got three. Dressing rooms is correct as well. Organ is correct. This is looking very good. Flytower is correct. Can we get a perfect score? Oh! So close! Unfortunately, that one was the kitchen. I really thought you had it there, but still a brilliant effort. Thank you for taking on Blueprinter. Katie now has the lead with 130 points. Apanui is close behind on 120 points. Then we have Harrison on 40 points, and Jordana on 30 points. So a really great start here on Brain Busters today. But of course, all four of our players want to head to that Brain Buster. - Here in the Brain Buster, one wrong move, and it could see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya. Let's hope today's top two players are ready for this, Chris. - Thanks for that, Mickey. And don't forget, you can play from home as well. Just hop online HEIHEI games. Don't go anywhere. We'll see you a muri i te whakata. * - Hoki mai ano. Welcome back to Brain Busters. Just before the break, we had Apanui and Katie take on their specialist subject round, and coming forward now, it is Jordana's turn to play. - What would you like to take on? - Spellbinder. - Thank you, Jordana. Let's play Spellbinder. Jordana, please step forward. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) - How's your spelling? - Mm, pretty good. - Let's put it to the test now. Good luck, Jordana. Here comes your first word. Crayon. - (SPELLS WORD) - Correct. Identity. - (SPELLS WORD) - Well done. Rectangular. - (SPELLS WORD) (BUZZES BLARES) - ...A-N-G-U-L-A-R. Manual. - (SPELLS WORD) - Correct. Please spell 'dissolve'. - (SPELLS WORD) - Awesome stuff. Plausible. - (SPELLS WORD) - That is correct. And your final word is... - epic. - (SPELLS WORD) - Nicely done. Really well played, there. Unlucky with one of those, and I think you definitely knew how to spell it as well, but still not a bad effort indeed. Thank you for taking on Spellbinder. - Thank you. - Well, Jordana is safe for now with 150 points. Katie has 130 points. Apanui has 120 points. Then we have Harrison on 40 points. So there is just one player remaining to take on their specialist subject round, and that player will be Harrison. What do you want to play? - Identifier. - Thanks, Harrison. Let's play Identifier. Harrison, please step forward. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) Good luck. 20 points for each Identifier you get right. - Here comes your first one. - OK. - (READS IDENTIFIER) Correct. Chicken, beer, dog. (READS IDENTIFIER) Slowly moving things into place. Have we moved them into the right position? Well done, Harrison. (READS IDENTIFIER) No surprise hitting London straightaway there. But what about our other two? Nailed it. (READS IDENTIFIER) Unlucky, Harrison. Finally for Identifier... potato, mushroom, yam. (READS IDENTIFIER) - Love our veggies, Harrison? - Yeah. - Good man. We also love seeing three green to finish off. Harrison, very well played. Thank you so much for taking on Identifier. That is our specialist subject rounds complete. So let's take a look now at the leaderboard. Jordana has the lead with 150 points. Katie has 130 points. Harrison is on 120 points, and Apanui also has 120 points. So some great results after our specialist subject rounds. And we do have a tie with Harrison and Apanui both on 120 points, which means we go to our tiebreaker now. So I will ask a question. The first person to buzz in and give me the correct answer will go through to the Brain-Teaser. However, if they buzz in and give the incorrect answer, the other player will go through. Good luck to both of you. Here comes your tiebreaker question. Which rapper has the persona of Slim Shady? - Harrison. - Eminem. - Is the correct answer. Harrison, congratulations, you are through. I heard two buzzers go off, Apanui. Just not quite quick enough. Unfortunately, you have been eliminated from Brain Busters. The good news is you've got yourself a $100 bank account. - What will you do with the money? - Oh... - Probably just save it. - Save it. Very smart, Apanui. Can't wait to see you on that pro dart circuit. Good luck with that. And congratulations to our three remaining players. For them, it's one step closer to the Brain Buster. - Three players left. Two will race, but only one will go home with that big cash prize. - Can't wait to find out who. - Kia ora, Mikey. And before we can get to the Brain Buster, we have our Brain-Teaser. Now, all of our players today have gone through their specialist subject rounds, and we are left with two options for our players to choose from. Today those options are Sequencer and Equaliser. So, Harrison, Katie and Jordana, please select which one you would like to play now. Thank you, everyone, for voting. We will start with Harrison, who has chosen Equaliser. Katie would like to play... Sequencer, and Jordana would like to play... Sequencer as well. There we go. Let's play Sequencer. Very much anyone's game at the moment, so let's get straight into our Sequencer Brain-Teaser. Good luck. Here comes your first Sequencer. Rolling in the Deep, Sucker, Dear Future Husband. In which order were these hit songs released, first to last? Harrison. - First is Rolling in the Deep by Adele. Next is Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor, and last is Sucker by the Jonas Brothers. - Harrison is correct and also takes the lead. Caleb Clarke, Richie Mo'unga, and Jordie Barrett. Put these current All Black players into alphabetical order by their first name. Katie. - Caleb Clarke. Jordie Barrett and Richie Mo'unga. - That is correct. Katie now joining Harrison. The Secret Garden, Charlotte's Web, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In which order were these books first published? - Katie. - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The Secret Garden, and Charlotte's Web. - Katie trying to get that lead just for herself. And gets it. Place baskets of food, place hot stones, dig a pit. In what order is a hangi prepared? - Jordana. - Dig a pit, place hot stones, and then place baskets of food. - Jordana trying to avoid elimination here. And for now, does. Finally ` Cuphead, Zork, and Gran Turismo 3. In which order were these video games first released? Harrison. - (SIGHS) Zork, Gran Turismo 3, Cuphead. - Final chance for points from the Brain-Teaser. Harrison desperately needs this to be right. And it is right also. Congratulations, Harrison, and what a very, very good round there for our Brain-Teaser. Thank everyone for playing. Let's take a look now at our final leaderboard. Harrison has 190 points. Katie also has 190 points. Then we have Jordana close behind on 180 points What a round that was for the Brain-Teaser. Jordana, I can't believe I'm saying this. You got 180 points, but unfortunately you have been eliminated from Brian Busters. You've played really, really well. And of course you get to go home with a $100 bank account. - So what will you do with the money? - Probably just save it. - Are you going to share any with your sisters? - Mm...maybe. - (LAUGHS) Thanks for coming on the show, Jordana. - Thank you. And congratulations to Harrison and Katie. For them, it's now on to the Brain Buster. - One will be going through to Amygdala, and one will be going home. Who will be today's champ? We'll be back after the break. Who will be today's champ? We'll be back after the break. * - Welcome back to the show. It all comes down to this. Get ready for the Brain Buster! - Harrison and Katie are our final two contestants that made it here to the Brain Buster. Shot, guys, on making it this far. Now, Harrison, I know golf is one of your sports you like to play in your spare time. - Tell us why, man. - Because you can do it on your own. - There's no one there to stop you, and you can take your time doing it. - Awesome. - How's that swing of yours? - It's pretty good. - Nice. - You ready to get a hole in one? - Yeah. - Awesome stuff. Best of luck. And, Katie, I know football is one of your favourite sports as well. - Why do you love playing football? - I love playing football because it's a team sport, and I love running around with the ball. - That's good that you like running around because are you ready to run through this Brain Buster? - Definitely. - Nice. It's now time to jump on to our zip line, you two, and let's get ready to fly. Here we go. Three, two, one, fly. It's Harrison versus Katie today in the ultimate obstacle course. Both players on 190 points. Will the race be just as even? Nice spinning dismount from Harrison, and both players on to the molecule steps. Harrison gets his code and shoots into the Corpus Callosum. And out of the other side in no time. Katie's got some catching up to do already. Harrison nailed his code, and he's clear to continue the course. Has Katie memorised hers? Oh-oh! That doesn't look good for Katie. But Harrison is up and into the tunnel. Katie's trying again. Still nothing. Oh, she's going to have to go back to see the code again, and that means another trip through the Corpus Callosum. Meanwhile, Harrison's on the frontal lobe. Katie's lost so much time. Has she got the code right this time? Yes! Great perseverance, Katie. And Harrison has just unlocked the final part of the course. Katie climbs one lobe, as Harrison climbs down the other. Great stuff, Katie. But Harrison darts his way through the Basal Ganglia, and Harrison is the Brain Busters champion for today! Just goes to show how important the mental agility is, because if you don't remember that code for the Hippocampus, you're as good as finished. But to Katie's credit, she never gave up and still did a great job. Over to you, Chris. - There we go. That is our race complete. Harrison, a couple this way. Nice show of sportsmanship there from both of our players. Katie, we'll start with you. What happened with the code? - Oh, I forgot it. Dammit! - (LAUGHS) A little bit unfortunate there, but hey, how's your time been here on Brain Busters, Katie? - It's been great. Thanks so much. - Great to hear, Katie. You've got yourself a $100 bank account. What will you be doing with the money? - Buying some new jumps for my ponies. - Nice to hear. I'm sure they're going to be very happy about that. Great having you on the show. Harrison, congratulations. Hole in one, if I've ever seen one. Well played. Happy with that result? - Yeah. - Excellent. You've done very well, Harrison. There's one thing left to do, and of course, that is taking on Amygdala. Harrison, welcome and congratulations on making it to Amygdala. - Thank you. - Because of your great efforts today, you scored 190 points. - Katie also scored 190 points, meaning we're playing for $380. - Wow. - A lot of money. - Yeah. - How much can we win? - Enough. - (LAUGHS) Enough. I like that. All right, Harrison, let's get into it now. Here comes your first Amygdala question. In the Star Wars movies, is there an evil umpire or evil empire? - Evil empire. - Correct. If you watch rugby. - If you give me more money, then yeah. - (LAUGHS) - I'm not sure if that's quite how it works. - Oh. That's a shame. - Good try, though. - Mm-hm. - Speaking of try, question ` what shape is a rugby field? You say rectangle. Is it right? - (DING!) - Yes, it is, Harrison. Well played. $304. Congratulations. A whole lot of money. What are we going to be doing with that? - Maybe save it up, spend some money down at the mall, go shopping, maybe buy a console. Who knows. - Nice.
