The ‘Goodnight Kiwi’, signalled the end of transmission on television from 1975 on TV2, and continued when TV2 became South Pacific Television between 1976 and 1980. After the reamalgamation of TV1 & TV2 in February 1980 the animation continued screening again on TV2 until 19 October 1994. When 24 hr television started it was dropped, although TV2 played it early in the evening to signal bedtime for children.
This is the first version where Goodnight Kiwi is the director and The Cat sneaks back inside after being put outside for the night with the milk bottle.
