[Tuesday 20 February 2024] Every weekday, Kathryn Ryan canvasses breaking news, backgrounds social and economic issues, and discusses lifestyle trends, with the help of newsmakers, correspondents, and experts in every imaginable field from writers and reviewers to ordinary New Zealanders. Between 9:00 am and 10:00 am Kathryn investigates the main news of the day - bringing the world to you. At 9:45 am we get the latest news from overseas from our correspondents. After the 10:00 am news, our Feature Interview profiles a wide range of extraordinary and ordinary people who stimulate new ideas and debate. At 10:35 am we have book reviews with a range of reviewers. At 10.45 am we speak to our team of regional reporters, finding out about the latest news in their patches. At 11:00 am on Mondays, we cover the week in politics, with political correspondents from the left and the right. On Tuesdays we feature business news with commentators Pattrick Smellie and Rebecca Stevenson; on Wednesdays we speak with musicologists Kirsten Zemke, Dave Wilson and Ian Chapman who bring us their unique playlists; on Thursdays we talk new technology and on Fridays, listeners are treated to a selection of the latest music releases with Jeremy Taylor or Grant Smithies. At about 11:25 am on Mondays we talk food, chatting to producers from around the country. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays we discuss interesting topics in the public arena. On Thursday's we talk parenting and on Fridays, sport with Sam Ackerman. On Mondays at 11:45 am Bill McKay looks at issues facing city dwellers - while on alternate Mondays we go off the beaten track with outdoorsman and adventurer, Kennedy Warne. On Tuesdays we talk sport with our team of sports commentators. Wednesday is personal finance with Liz Koh, alternating with our science commentary slot. Thursdays is viewing day, what to watch and how to watch it in this ever changing digital landscape. And on Fridays we finish the week with a light-hearted look at the news with a range of comedians.
